Medical requirements

MEDICAL EXAMINATION
When a candidate has agreed to join Crystal Cruises or Asuka II, you will be required to take a Pre-Employment Medical Exam. All necessary documents will be forwarded to you electronically together with complete instructions. Once completed, you are requested to forward your Medical Certificate and all test results to ICMA for screening by our Medical Advisor at the following email: medical@icma.no.

Once approved by our Medical Advisors, you will receive permission to travel to your ship.

Take time to read the instructions before going for your medical examination. When booking an appointment, inform your doctor that you will also need a chest x-ray. Bring the original results with you onboard and hand over to crew officer.

Kindly note that your medical expenses will be reimbursed after your three months probation period.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING INFLUENZA:
In order to try and minimize the spread of illness among passengers and crew, all joining crew will be vaccinated for influenza upon boarding a Crystal Cruises vessel. The vaccination is free of charge and, unless you have a valid medical reason, you are required to be vaccinated onboard.

Persons who believe that they have a valid reason for not receiving the vaccination should arrive with proof from a medical doctor that they cannot be safely vaccinated. If you were vaccinated before joining your Crystal Cruises ship, please bring proof of vaccination with you. Note that you will not be reimbursed for an influenza vaccination that you took prior to joining.
